Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer will:
•    Be responsible for leading, facilitating, managing and executing capital projects to completion.
•    Manage the capital budget, inclusive of reporting and analysis. 
•    Develop plans, implement solutions for continuous process improvement using sound engineering principles.
•    Participate and assist in design of process related capital projects and safety improvements.
•    Drive development and growth through process design, technology scaling, equipment selection, and process and product optimization in support of the company's goals for cost, quality and delivery.
•    Be responsible for the selection of suppliers in coordination with the Engineering Manager
•    Establish and or improve process controls in the factory.
•    Be able to work in a cross functional and collaborative environment to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
•    Work with equipment and operators to develop, improve and monitor key procedures.
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to define problems and determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
•    Work with Operations, QA, and Engineering departments to develop and implement production methods and controls in accordance with applicable industry standards in the most cost-effective manner in support of schedule requirements.

Your Strengths:
•    Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, P. Eng would be considered an asset.
•    PMP, or equivalent required with minimum 3 years proven experience managing large scale industrial projects.
•    AutoCAD experience required.  SolidWorks experience would be considered an asset.
•    Experience with SAP system is considered a strong asset.
•    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. 
•    You have proven experience executing capital investment projects, according to tight schedules and timelines, including costing and budget planning.
•    Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and the leadership team, including collaboration with international peers.
•    Solid organization, change management and problem-solving skills.
•    Sound judgment, critical thinking skills and the ability to make difficult, time sensitive decisions. 
•    Ability to work a flexible work schedule to support a multiple-shift operation.
•    You must be able to touch and work with pork, chicken and beef products and work in hot and cold environments.
•    Fluency in the German language would be considered an asset.
•    Must have a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally as required.
