Your Future:

 

As the Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator, you will report into the Health & Safety Manager (Offsite) and Plant Manager (Onsite). You will:

  • Work with Managers and Supervisors to assist with and implement plant environmental, health & safety objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with the facilitation and monitoring of the Plant Safety Program to reduce the risk of workplace injuries.
  • Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings, inspections, and follow-up on the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Facilitate environmental, health and safety training requirements.
  • Provide assistance with WSIB claims management.
  • Follow-up on incident reports and investigations with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist with conducting audits and investigations to ensure safe operations, conducting root cause analysis and risk assessments, along with implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and current records in accordance with legislation and company environment, health & safety program.
  • Assist with facilitating and implementing programs such as ergonomics.
  • Manage and maintain ISO 14001 environmental management system and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management system, inclusive of managing internal and external audits.
  • Be responsible for gathering data, preparing reports and analytics regarding environmental and sustainability projects.
  • Act as an advisor for management and supervisors regarding changes in legislation, environmental and sustainability trends to ensure preventive measures and compliance of regulations.
  • Lead Safety Culture initiatives to integrate objectives and participation of all employees in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs.

 

 

Your Strengths:

 

  • Post secondary education in Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a similar field, preferably food or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety legislation, applicable provincial or local legislation, regulation and standards, including International Standards such as ISO 14001, 9001 and 45001.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical and detail-oriented mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit and a team player attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task in a busy work environment.
  • CRSP, CRST or CHSC designation or in the process of obtaining designation would be an asset.
     

Your Schedule:

 

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift, *Seldomly Afternoon shift might be required
  • Monday to Friday
