The Production Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective production of consumer-packaged goods by overseeing and optimizing production schedules. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for analyzing production data, resolving issues, and collaborating with various departments to ensure production remains on-track.
Your Future:
- Production Scheduling Oversight: Create, review and update production schedules. This involves ensuring schedules are aligned with demand forecasts and inventory levels, in addition to analyzing historical data to optimize production runs, ensuring timely delivery of products.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with various departments, including Procurement, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure alignment on production goals and service delivery. This role requires effective communication skills to facilitate discussions and resolve conflicts.
- Production Progress Oversight: Review production progress, analyzing of any delays or issues in consultations with the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager. This role is responsible for identifying areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency within the scope of planning.
- Resource Management: Validating with Procurement the availability of raw materials and line capacities to meet production targets.
- Master Data Management / Key User: Create, update, and maintain master data records ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness in SAP. Monitor and resolve data quality issues within the Production and Warehousing environment.
Your Strengths:
- Post Secondary Education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in production planning or a similar role in the consumer-packaged goods industry
- Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting tools
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Problem-solving approach, strong organizational, and communication skills.
Your Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 7.5 hours per day
The expected compensation range for this position is CAD $60,000 to CAD $75,000 depending on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget.
This is an onsite role based out of our Mississauga Facility, working Monday to Friday. However, flexibility is essential to align with production schedules and business needs.
