Description 

Are you passionate about baking and cake decorating and energized by sharing that passion with others? For nearly a century, Wilton has been teaching cake decorating and confectionery art to students around the world. Formerly known as The Wilton School of Cake Decorating, we reopened our doors in 2024 with a modern twist and a new name — Wilton Sweet Studio—at Wilton’s headquarters in Naperville, Illinois. As we honor our rich legacy, we continue to evolve, inspiring the next generation of decorators through innovative, accessible education. We are seeking a creative, versatile baker to help deliver engaging educational experiences across our in-person, virtual, and digital platforms, blending teaching, content creation, and studio support. Reporting to the Education Strategy Manager, you will develop class plans and projects and teach baking and decorating classes both in-person and virtually. You will serve as one of several knowledgeable voices within the organization, representing a nearly 100-year tradition of bringing Wilton’s baking and cake decorating educational mission to life while ensuring students and customers feel welcomed, supported, and inspired

 

Ingredients 

Teaching & Educational Delivery

  • Deliver dynamic virtual and in-person learning experiences including kids’ camps, family classes, and adult classes, for learners of varying skill levels and ages.
  • Maintain a strong on-camera presence, delivering content in an energetic and compelling manner while adapting to live situations.
  • Contribute to short- and long-form educational content across Wilton’s channels and collaborate with school colleagues and cross-functional teams to ensure our students receive the highest quality baking and decorating education.
  • Create lesson plans, educational materials, design and execute class project prototypes.
  • Update course materials to reflect new classes and changes to existing curriculum, maintaining accurate course information on registration platforms and internal systems.

Content Creation & Brand Representation

  • Create educational baking and decorating content for digital platforms, including brief “how to” tutorials, demonstrations, and short-form video.
  • Present educational content on camera in a professional, engaging, and brand-aligned manner.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and education team to develop timely, relevant educational topics and content that align to the brand’s vision, character and objectives.
  • Ensure content aligns with Wilton’s brand voice and engages a broad audience of baking and decorating enthusiasts. Be flexible to react to trends and virtual moments.

Studio Support & Customer Experience

  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for Wilton Sweet Studio guests and students, assisting with student inquiries, registrations, technical issues, and general studio support as needed.
  • Partner with Education, Marketing, Digital, and Research & Development teams to maintain and update curriculum, support new product development initiatives, and contribute to online educational content.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and studio environment.

 

Equipment 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years relevant experience in culinary arts or food crafting.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce engaging content.
  • Experience in customer/public/student-facing roles.

 

Instructions  

  • Strong presentation skills and comfort engaging both live and on camera.
  • Comfortable adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ability to connect authentically with diverse audiences in both group and individual settings.
  • A customer-focused, positive attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes evenings and Saturdays.
  • Ability to balance responsibilities and problem-solve independently.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication.
  • High proficiency in MS office and general digital tools, basic proficiency with video conferencing tools.
  • Valid ServSafe Food Handler certification (or completion withing first 30 days of employment).
  • Ability to develop & maintain relationships while collaborating cross-functionally within areas of the business.
  • Demonstration of growth mindset by embracing the qualities of agility, curiosity, accountability, and innovation consistent with Wilton’s Culture Recipe.

 

Baking Conditions 

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during classes and Studio activities.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Work in kitchen environments with exposure to heat and cold.
  • Routinely use standard office equipment such as (laptop computers, monitors/keyboards, printers, and telephones).
  • Processes information and communicates effectively with others.
  • Ability to travel domestically (10%) as needed.
