Do you have a passion for marketing & brand building? A passion for and knowledge of consumers, shoppers, retail, baking & decorating?  As Director of  Wilton's Consumer Business Unit (CBU), you are a key member of the Wilton North America team, responsible for leading consumer and category strategic initiatives that not only enhance company growth and profitability, but also drive alignment with the overall company values and vision. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you  will support and nurture a world-class team, fostering employee engagement, category development, growth, and a winning culture to further improve Wilton’s brand and business proposition.

 

You will drive a consumer-centric data-driven mindset within the team, representing the consumer’s needs within the organization. Being responsible for the portfolio’s P&L, you will also work on continuous assortment improvement (Innovation, Renovation, Line Extenders, PPA, Value Engineering) and ensure the commercial viability across the different channels. 

 

Within the Marketing team, you will partner with the Director of Masterbrand & Community to design product campaigns, as well as partner with the Director of Insights & Analytics to foster a data-driven culture and review on a monthly basis the business overall performance.

 

Ingredients

  • Define the CBU strategy, vision and growth plan across all sales channels.
  • Manage CBU budget, product portfolio P&L, and agreed KPIs.
  • Identify CBU innovation and ongoing optimization opportunities.
  • Share inputs/feedback to product teams on the new projects at an early stage so that projects are adapted or adaptable for the consumer.
  • Obtain market insights and social analytics to ensure CBU’s activities (product and marketing) are relevant for consumer and customers.
  • Supervise key project milestones and acts as validation / escalation point.
  • Supervise key CBU communication asset creation.
  • Drive Revenue Management across the category.
  • Foster collaboration within the team and coach managers and junior members, driving employee growth and development.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment and sharing of best practices. 

 

Equipment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, etc. required.  MBA preferred.
  • More than 10 years of significant experience in Category Management analyzing insights to determine industry & consumer trends & develop strategies for product groupings.

 

Instructions

  • Significant experience in Category Management analyzing insight to determine industry & consumer trends & develop strategies for product groupings & marketing campaigns and Product Development.
  • Understanding of core consumers, customers & competitors in the assigned category.
  • Significant experience in delivering projects using project management methodologies & an understanding of & ability to apply to category activity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Significant experience in managing marketing campaigns & product development.
  • Strong understanding of Brand Strategy & Management incl. brand purpose, heart and perception in the market of its target consumer.
  • Strong understanding of core consumers, customers & competitors in the cake and desert category.
  • Know how to use consumer market tools (such as Circana or Nielsen) and can deduct and translate into relevant insights. 
  • Proficient use of Excel; Power BI considered a plus. 

 

Baking Conditions

  • Professional office environment, sedentary in nature.
  • Routinely use standard office equipment such as (laptop computers, monitors/keyboards, printers, and telephones).
  • Processes information and communicates effectively with others.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
