Job Summary

Do you have a passion for driving process improvement change and delivering outstanding customer service? We have an immediate opening for an Inventory Manager reporting to our Director of Operations.  This is a critical role accountable for inventory management strategies, monitoring inventory levels and implementing efficient inventory control processes.  The position will be in our distribution center located in Romeoville, Illinois. 

 

We are also looking for individuals with a passion and proven track record in team leadership and the ability drive change initiatives and process improvements that enhance inventory accuracy, streamline operations, and increase efficiencies.   

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 5 inventory control employees, providing guidance, coaching, and support to drive performance and achieve departmental objectives and tasks performed.
  • Design and implement an inventory tracking system and strategies to optimize Wilton's inventory control procedures,  record keeping for deliveries, shipments and stock levels.
  • Examine the levels of supplies and material to determine shortages - corrugate, wet tape, void fill, etc.
  • Accountable for developing KPI metrics and preparing detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.
  • Perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems (Lot Codes, Rebrand, SSL, OOS, etc.), examine daily product and supply levels to determine shortages (corrugate, wet tape, void fill, etc.).
  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, while being mindful of product velocity, quality and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with corporate cross-functional teams through S&OP to maintain optimal aging inventory levels, translate and navigate inventory projections, and identify low/or excess obsolete stock position.
  • Identify supply chain efficiency or process improvement opportunities, collaborating with leadership to devise and review action plans and seeing plans through to implementation.
  • Maintain safety in the warehouse by adhering to the company safety policies and national regulations according to the legal standards.
  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics or supply chain management, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in inventory management, or related field with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables, to analyze data and generate reports. 

 

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics or supply chain management, or related field is required.
Minimum of 5 years in inventory management, or related field with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Knowledge of SAP and Warehouse Management Systems.
Strong proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables, to analyze data and generate reports. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Outstanding data analysis and sound working knowledge of common inventory management software.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills with the ability to identify and meet milestones.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to inventory management.
  • Considers all risks and possibilities and proactively generates creative solutions.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables, to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing SOPs to improve inventory management processes.


Physical Demands

  • This role requires regular movement throughout the office; may need to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, crawl, sit, talk, move about, hear and speak.  May be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions.
  • Work environment where the noise level varies and can be loud, subject to variable temperatures and weather.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and be able to use appropriate support equipment to lift and move greater amounts.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is required to use safety equipment as is appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or others.
